Women's Shelter Projects

We make twin-bed-sized quilts for the Helpline Women's Shelter in Walla Walla.  The quilts can be of any design of the quilters choosing, but they must fit a twin bed. The Guild originally pledged 30 quilts for the shelter which was achieved and we continue to provide them as they are needed.

We have also embarked on a tote-bag project for the Shelter. Simple tote bags containing personal care items are a consumable item given to the women at the Helpline Shelter. The Guild members have been challenged to meet the extensive, on-going need for these bags. The suggested size for the totes is 16" x 16" squares with 2 1/2" bottom gusset for a box bottom bag. Members are also encouraged to donate toietries for the bags.

Patterns and tutorials for over 35 tote bags can be found on-line at
Tipnut.com

Quilter's are encouraged to share the quilts and totes at monthly guild meetings and then donate them. They can be any pattern, any color, and/or any theme.

Chair: To be announced
